Notifications / Temporary Amendments

 

1.      The league has received complaints from clubs regarding the lack of attention to the handbook amendments i.e. confirmation letters are being sent to former secretaries. Please ensure that all newsletter items are noted and actioned as appropriate.

2.      The league has also received complaints regarding confirmation advice. Some managers are bypassing secretaries and contacting managers of their opponents direct, often by phone. Your attention is drawn to League Rule 10(E). Any club failing to comply with this rule shall be liable to a fine of upto £25.

3.      Clubs are reminded that Changing Facilities must be made available to players & officials. This is a pre-condition of entry to this league. Rule 10(C) refers.

4.      Team Managers & Coaches must only contact their Liaison Officers. Only Club Secretaries are permitted to contact other League Committee Members – Pages 2 & 3 of the League Handbook refers.

Rule Amendments	Due to an error, some of the rules in the handbook have inadvertently been printed incorrectly. No changes were changed at this year’s AGM so all rules remain the same as last season. For that reason the following amendments should be made to the handbook: Rule 6(H) – second line amend to “….shall be fined £20” Rule 8(S) – second line amend to “….fine of £25” Rule 10(E) – end of fourth line amend to “….liable to a fine of upto £25” Rule 10 (J) – third line amend to “.…will result in a fine of £20” Rule 10(L) – amend to First Offence fine to read “£30”.                    -  amend Second Offence fine to read “£30, 1 point deducted” -  amend Third Offence to read “Third & Subsequent Offence £30, 2 points deducted” Rule 11 (B) – end of third line amend to read “….will incur a fine of £15” Rule 15 (D) – add after existing text “no protest whatever kind shall be considered by the Management Committee unless the complaining club shall have deposited with the secretary a sum of £10”. The Bad Weather Postponement procedure (other than on Council or School pitches) MUST be followed. Any Club intending to postpone a game may only do so on the day of the game and with a pitch inspection carried out by the match appointed Referee; or if unavailable by any other League registered Referee. The Referee's name must be included in your letter to the Fixtures Secretary and should be sent without delay advising of the postponement. The Home Club must still phone their appropriate Liaison officer as usual advising of the postponement.
Kick-off times must be either 10.30 or 2.30, as agreed with the League; unless permission to change has been given by the Fixtures Secretary.

6.      FURTHER REMINDERS  - There are some clubs still failing to ring through details of postponed matches to their respective liaison officers. There are also Managers ringing committee members, other than their respective Liaison Officers, this MUST stop, all calls should be directed through the Club Secretary. Fines will be incurred if this continues. We appreciate this does not apply to all Clubs, there are many of you doing an excellent job, thank you. Obviously where the League call off all games on a particular Sunday you do not need to phone through the postponements.

 

7.      As you are aware, there have been many games called off in recent weeks due to the weather. The Fixtures Secretary has requested that if possible, please do not put in 14-day notices for a postponement of a match as it will be very difficult to squeeze games in before the end of the season, as we are fast running out of Sundays and are already facing the prospect of evening midweek games to fulfil the fixture list before the end of the season.
